Extremely difficult to learn, but awesome cheat!
Just to give you an idea, a good strafe jump in non-oldschool can make you jump almost as far as you can in oldschool.
To do this, put your sensitivity at six.
Alright, there are two essential things to a good strafe jump.
One, your beginning positioning, and the strafe.
For wherever you want to get to, face about 60 degrees to the right. Once you've done this, take out you pistol (not necessary but helps a good jump).
Wherever you are start sprinting. As you're reaching the end of the platform you're on, strafe about 65 degrees to the left as fast as you can, and press A.
This is a tricky manoeuvre, but helpful.
Basically, as you're turning press A when you're facing your target, but keep spinning a little. This is hard, and if you want my help, friend me at LLion.
To give an idea of a hard but makeable strafe play Pipeline. On one side side of the map there is a gas station next to a mail truck.
Get on the gas station by jumping from one of the higher pegs on the fence next to it.
From here, a good strafe jump can get up onto the blue roof of building 1. [more cheats for Call of Duty 4 here]
