French news service TF1 is reporting that criminals in Créteil, a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, have made off with a shipment of video games worth €400,000. What’s more, the shipment reportedly contained around 6,000 copies of the soon to be released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Apparently the truck carrying the games shipment was involved in a crash with a car, from which two masked men appeared. The men were armed with tear gas as well as knives and subdued the operators of the van, kicking them out of the vehicle. The masked men then made off with the games in the van, taking the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 copies with them (apparently).
With some people reportedly paying over $10,000 to purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 early, the robbers would appear to have a valuable haul, however their chances of offloading it for that much are non-existent.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to be released on 8 November.
