EVO 2012 is done and over, but alongside the killer footage dripping with hype that emerged from the show, Ed Boon was at the event to show off Netherrealm Studios’ latest superhero-infused fighter in development, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Featuring some of DC Comics’ most iconic characters, Injustice looks to bring a legitimate fighting game to the mass with the likes of Batman and Superman at the helm, beating each other into submission. DC characters haven’t gotten quite the same attention that Marvel’s impressive lineup has in the past (Batman aside), but Netherrealm Studios is looking to change that. Although it looks quite a bit like a re-skinned Mortal Kombat 9, the resemblance is purely cosmetic as the combat and movement appear to be very unique. Have a look for yourself:
The respective characters appear to have been given quite a bit of attention and love for their backgrounds and history, and the interactivity of the environments is definitely something that other fighters aren’t really exploring.
