2011 has come and gone and with it, we saw some fantastic games released and numerous records broken. Since the end of the year, the team at Xbox have been busy crunching some numbers and have delivered their list of the most played Xbox 360 games over the course of the 2011. It is important to note that, rather than the numbers being based on copies sold, they are instead based on unique users that are connected to Xbox Live (while playing the relevant game), and in the case of Live Arcade titles, the numbers come from full game versions purchased.
Activision’s crazy popular Call of Duty series has sewn up the top three places with Halo: Reach, Battlefield 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Gears of War 3 rounding out the next four spots. As for the Arcade titles, Pinball FX2 came in first, followed by Full House Poker and then Castle Crashers. Check out the full lists below.

I think fallout new vegas should have been number one. Black ops sucked and was just a horrible game to play. If anything, black ops should have been number 20. Modern warfare 2 was way better than blackops but either way awesome article.
