Xbox360Cheats’ Top Ten Xbox 360 Games of 2011

It’s been a good year for gaming with plenty of high profile franchises releasing their latest installments and a fair few top quality newcomers throwing their hats in the ring as well. While we can’t list all of our favorite Xbox 360 titles for the year, we can offer you our top ten list. Inevitably some of you will agree with its contents, while some of you won’t – however, either way we’d love to hear your comments on our list of the top ten Xbox 360 games for 2011!

10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 has received plenty of criticism since its release, but regardless of whether it’s a replica of its predecessor or not, the game is still highly entertaining in its own right and that’s what’s important.

9. Batman: Arkham City

C’mon, it’s Batman! Arkham City continually quenches our thirst for mass brawls and feeling like a bad-ass, long after the main storyline has been completed.

8. FIFA 12

The football (soccer) gaming market is huge and there has really only been two franchises worth mentioning over the last decade: FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. While the later seems to be slipping further and further into obscurity, FIFA on the other hand has gone from strength to strength and has once again delivered a highly impressive simulation of the beautiful game.

7. Forza Motorsport 4

Fast cars, great graphics and Jeremy Clarkson. What more could a petrol head ask for? Forza 4 picked up where its predecessors left off and delivered without question the best racing Sim to date, not only on the Xbox but (in our opinion) anywhere!

6. L.A. Noire

We loved this title from Rockstar! It was refreshing to see something truly innovative from one of the big boys of the industry. Too many of them have been resting on their laurels of late, so massive props to Rockstar for breaking the mold with LA Noire, and doing it with style.

5. Saints Row: The Third

Mindless violence has never been so funny. While we loved being a cop in L.A. Noire and appreciated the concept immensely, we really can’t tell you just how much fun we’ve had with Saint’s Row 3 over the last few weeks, shooting at everything that moves. Of course the stationary targets weren’t safe either!

4. Gears of War 3

Epic Games bought down the curtain on one of the finest game series in the last decade with Gears of War 3. At the same time they also left an online multiplayer experience (when its working as it should) good enough to keep us busy for a year or two.

3. Battlefield 3

Patience, a quick mind and deft marksmanship are just some of the traits required to be a good Battlefield 3 player. Sadly, we have none of them. But that didn’t stop us having an absolute blast with DICE’s latest offering. The debut of Frostbite 2 was extremely well received and bodes well for the company’s future releases.

2. Portal 2

Valve came up with something unique, entertaining and addictive when they released the original Portal way back in October 2007. Almost four years later Portal 2 had us jumping through hoops all over again. The concept is so simple yet so addictive. We’ve lost count of the amount of times we’ve uttered the words “one more try” while playing this platform meets first person shooter. Absolute genius!

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

We just couldn’t look beyond Skyrim! It has such incredible depth and immersion that divorce paperwork should be attached to every game receipt at the checkout, purely so you don’t have to put down the controller when your other half inevitably decides enough is enough. We have been playing this one daily since we got our grubby little fingers on it and show no signs of slowing up. A worthy #1 in our eyes.
